Fiddlin’ Red looks a bit like Wild Bill Hickock; tall and thin, with a long mustache, curly reddish hair, long sleeved shirt, vest, pocket watch, cowboy boots, and a wide brimmed hat. Through a series of fortunate events, Red moved to Sandpoint, Idaho, in the fall of 2010.

Red fell in love with the guitar when he was 12, and he’s been playing ever since. Self taught, he enjoys finger picking rag time, flat picking old time tunes, or playing slide style blues. He has added fiddle, mandolin, banjo, spoons, harmonica, jaw harp, and button accordian to his ensemble, and he sings tenor as well.

Red didn’t want Sandpoint to go without a music store, so he stepped up to the plate and decided to open his own store. Fiddlin’ Red’s Music features the Washburn line of instruments, musical accoutrements, as well as used items. Red will continue to provide his top of the line instrument repair and music lessons.

Music is a multilayered art form that evokes emotions, inspires dance, heals the heart, and can make you laugh and cry.  Fiddlin’ Red’s Music, like the music Red plays, is traditional, folksy, and wrapped with love.
